No Navigation but has some good features.

Received the unit and noticed the manual does not reference the navigation features with the "millions of Points of Interest". The description says it's built in so I installed the unit figuring the "Built-in touch screen navigation system" may be included in the menu system when it powers up.It's not anywhere to be found, so I called Exonic. I was told none of their systems have navigation even though their own web site, Amazon, and many others say in their description that the navigation is included in this model EX7092 and some other models.Other than that, the system seems to be a quite nice. The WVGA screen is clear, the menus laid out well, Bluetooth works fine and the sound is quite good. The USB and memory card play MP3s without a hitch. The DVD player works fine too and has a good picture.My preference is a unit navigation, so I'll be retuning this one.

Since no one has reviewed this item yet I thought I would share my experience with it. The EXD-7088GPS is a unit that offers GPS/DVD/USB/Ipod/Radio (no HD Radio)/Steering wheel controls/CD/Bluetooth features. As far as an all-in-one unit goes it is not bad for the price- and is somewhat customizable according to the unit. The unit uses a Windows CE based operating system and although it has its glitches it works fairly well. I cannot speak to the long-term reliability of the unit as I have only had it for a week but I will update this review in about 6 months. The unit takes about 12 seconds to boot and ~20 seconds for BT connectivity.The GPS is a Horizon Nav product; the maps are preloaded on a 4gb SD card that in theory should be easy to update. It does come with a separate manual just for the GPS which is nice. Since the unit feature front AUX/SD/USB inputs you won't have to pull the entire unit out to get at the SD card to update the maps. I haven't had the need to update the maps (they have been up-to-date in my experience so far) but I did go to the Horizon Nav website and it seems like the process would be fairly simple for someone who is computer literate. The GPS software itself is a little convoluted with the menus but keep in mind the GPS has options for almost anything you would want to see so I'll take it as a fair trade off. You do have to accept the user disclaimer every time you start your vehicle but that is expected in all of these units; annoying yes, will I be able to deal with it, yes. The GPS antenna has a magnetic base for mounting outside the vehicle, but I mounted mine inside (I was not sure of the weatherproof status of the antenna) and I get numerous satellites with it mounted on the dash. Hot/cold fixes are quick, and satellites are acquired before the unit completes booting and the nav is loaded. The voice guidance on the unit is really quiet- if the tunes are playing I can barely hear the navigation guidance even with the levels turned all the way up. The unit does try to lower the music volume but it is not user controlled and does not lower the volume nearly enough. Minor inconvenience. All the other feature of the navigation are nice; and the unit's guidance level is above most systems.The bluetooth function is very handy and user friendly; I have used it with a blackberry to stream music and for phone calls. Your phonebook can be downloaded to the unit but is not very east to navigate from the touchscreen, incoming calls are easy but outgoing call I will just dial from my phone. The mic is built into the unit and have not had any complaints from people I've talked to; they can hear me just fine. You can also use the remote to play/pause/skip tracks/etc from your phone which is another handy feature of the device. It does pause/mute the video's/music you're listening to when you're in a call as well.The screen isn't bad, I would give it a 7/10. It is sunlight readable (even with polarized sunglasses on) and can dim to a very acceptable level at nighttime. The daytime GPS screens color contrast could be much better though. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to calibrate as well.Radio/DVD/Disc functions are all typical, you can use the remote to control some of these as well but basically all standard and east to use.The menus on the home screen can be arranged to the user's preferences. Definitely a nice feature, I have noticed some hang-ups on certain icons- especially when using the remote. The processing power of the unit seems a little underrated. I have only noted a couple hang-ups but it is a windows based OS which something of that nature is to be expected.To install the unit some things were a little confusing; the manual is not very specific as far as wiring guidance goes. I was able to call and talk with tech-support right away which is nice because sometimes the is no answer on the phone with some of these unknown branded products. I did not have to wire in steering wheel controls, back-up camera, or an additional screen (I may add another display) but I will say that everything is labeled well and all of the RCA components are labels also. SUB/Speakers/VID Out/Ipod/Rear Camera in and all labeled and easy to find/hook up. The unit has good sound with stock speakers and the EQ is easy to use and works well- especially with separate subwoofer control volume from the dash.All-in-all I like the unit and would recommend it; get lots of compliments but it has a stock looking aura which is nice. Yes it's not perfect but for NAV/Video/Tunes/BT it works really well and I don't have too many gripes.
