Product Description

Sound Storm has always been on the front end of technological advances as they pertain to mobile entertainment. In-dash DVD players with built-in monitors have grown exponentially in popularity over the past couple of years. Sound Storm Laboratories recognizes the importance of keeping passengers entertained. Due to the increased popularity of these units, we challenged our engineers to develop a series of in-dash DVD players with built-in monitors that would provide a high quality, yet affordable entertainment solution for 12-volt system builders. The SD715MB is a Bluetooth enabled in-dash single DIN DVD/MP3/CD AM/FM receiver with a motorized, flip-out 7" widescreen touchscreen monitor. This unit also features USB and SD/MMC card ports and a front panel 3.5mm A/V input, and a detachable control panel for added security. Screen resolution of 1440 x 234 pixels, brightness of 600 NITS, and wide angle/off-axis visibility helps effectively keep passengers entertained. Addition features include vertical angle adjustment, on-screen menu display, NTSC/PAL compatible monitor, a PLL synthesized tuner with 30 station presets, and switchable USA/European frequencies. This unit provides maximum flexibility with separate bass and treble adjustment and balance and fader controls, dual audio stereo/video RCA outputs for system building, a subwoofer RCA output, and a wireless remote control. This unit also boasts a rear view camera RCA input with trigger wire that will automatically switch the monitor to the camera input when the vehicle is put in reverse. 5GREAT radio for the price!
By wikedawsum
Since there were no reviews on this when I bought it, I wanted to wait a few days to really become familiar with the radio before I posted one. I installed this in a 2007 Nissan Frontier 5 days ago. Here are the good and the bad that I've found on this radio so far.Bad:* This is not so much as bad, but slightly annoying.. the clock does not display on the radio. You have to hit the clock button on the remote to view the time, and it will only display for about 5 seconds.* When you first put a CD in, the radio checks to see if it's a DVD so it takes a few seconds before the CD will start to play.* I had problems with the screen not coming out all the way so ended up taking the trim off the front of the radio so I could pull it out of the dash a little more. When the screen is open you can't really tell.* If you are listening to a CD or watching a DVD and need to go back to the main screen, the disc will stop playing. It does, however, pick up where it left off when you go back to it.* I listen to CDs a lot. In order for it to continuously play the CD over and over, you must use the remote to set it on Repeat All each time you start your vehicle.Good:* Sound quality is great. Much better than the factory radio.* Bluetooth functionality is awesome. I paired my phone once and it now connects as soon as the radio comes on. Call quality is clear, and the person on the other end has no problems hearing me even though the mic is built into the radio. Disc play goes right back to where it left off after a call has ended.* I don't use it often, but there are 18 station presets.* The remote has an angle button that allows you to tilt the screen. When you turn the car off, and then turn it back on it remembers where the screen was.* If you want to hook up a review camera (or just bypass the parking brake feature), it comes with a grounding wire to use on a toggle switch. I bought one from O'Reilly's for about $4.00. Connected the grounding wire to one end of the switch, and the other end is behind one of my mounting screws. Connected the parking brake wire to the other end of the switch. Works great.* It will read NTSC and PAL formatted DVDs.* MP3 playback can be controlled through the touch screen, or through the MP3 player itself.* It has a micro USB slot on the front panel, but comes with a cable to allow you to hook up a USB drive up to 8GB.All in all, for the price I paid for this radio, I am very satisfied. I was looking at some more expensive units, but decided to go with this one to save a little money. If you're in the same situation as me and don't have a lot of money to spend, I would highly recommend this unit. It has all the features I wanted, at half the price. Hope this review helps someone out!

4SSL Receiver
By Danny
I would have to say that the stereo deck was a great product for the price. I love the hands free and the rca input for the backup camera worked great. I will say that the company needs to make a correction regarding the unit playing MP4's which it does not. I converted My MP4'S to MPEG2 format and the videos I had on my SD card finally played. Overall it is a great deck and I am glad I ordered two of them for my vehicles.
