I just finished installing this unit in a 2011 sienna. It is working well and the audio over the FM transmitter is pretty clear depending on where you go. After a recent trip I connected the RCA audio connector out to my AUX in on my radio because of trouble when passing through big cities. It would get staticy sometimes under power lines and when going by some semi trucks. We had to change the FM station 3 times while passing through Indy, which got old fast. I haven't tried out IR headphones on it. The screen is plenty big and surprisingly doesn't obstruct much at all of the rear view mirror. If you want to change the FM frequency you have to use the remote. It took me a while to find this since the buttons are heard to see on the remote. The built in dome lights are blue/white, the color doesn't match our overhead lights so I don't think I'll be using this function. The remote is pretty bad because the unit has a hard time seeing it. It seems to work from the front of the unit pretty well if you are the driver controlling it over your shoulder, but you obviously can't see the screen. My kids will never get it to work as it seemed to only work in one small 2" x 2" spot from the back where you can see what you are doing with the remote. To be fair I did not try replacing the battery, but I just bought the thing so it better be good. It was one of those deals where you pull the tab to make it work so I don't see why it would be dead. I may just get a universal one and see how it does.If you are installing this yourself the main complaints I had are as follows.- The self tapping screws couldn't tap into a wet paper bag. I used some of my own I had laying around.- What I am assuming is the power filter for some reason is located right up near the unit. I don't have room for it up there so I cut the wires and relocated it to the stereo area.- The screws for attaching the unit to the mounting bracket are about an 1/8" too short, especially if you plan to use the trim ring.

By Camp4Fun
I installed the Audiovox Movies2Go AVXMTG10U in my 2004 Ford Excursion. It replaced a Sony MV900DS Overhead DVD/TV that was in the truck when we bought it in 2008. The Sony worked great until the last 6-months when it would skip and shut-off at random times. It also had a hard time reading the disc when the unit was hot or cold after sitting all night in Winter or Summer.Taking the Sony down was relativity simple. And since there was already wiring there for the Sony, I didn't need to tap into a dome light or run new wiring back under the dash for power. I want my kids to use wireless headphones (The ones from the old Sony player work fine with the Audiovox) so I had no interest in modulating the audio to an FM channel or wiring the sound directly to the head unit in the dash. One of the joys of the "TV in the car" is the quiet you get when all the kids are watching a movie using the headphones. The installation for most people is going to be a royal pain. Audiovox tries to help be giving you a metal mounting plate with lots of screw holes that you have to attach to the ceiling of the Car. In theory, if you are placing the AudioVox where a dome light or other ceiling mounted item was, then there will be a roof support bar to attach the mounting plate to. However since every car ceiling is different, plan on having to make a trip to a hardware store to get the right length and size screws. I was able to find a pair of 2.5" self tapping screws and run them up into the roof support bar. Once I figured out what I was going to do and bought the screws, it only took a few minutes to have the mounting plate up.The wiring is also not straightforward. Audiovox uses a 6 pin connector. From that connector are 5 wires. A red wire for 12v power and a black wire for ground. Then there is a purple/black stripe wire, red/black stripe wire and a black/blue stripe wire. These are all used to either cut power to the unit when the ignition is turned off and turn on/off the dome lights on the side of the Audiovox. My solution was to run the red and red/black strip to the white wire from the truck (12v power) and the Black and black/blue stripe wire to the black wire from the truck (Ground). I put a wire nut over the purple wire. What this gives me is the Audiovox has no power when the ignition is off., has power with the ignition on, and allows you to manually turn on and off the lights on the front of the Audiovox by sliding the switch on the side of the unit.As for the trim, Audiovox gives you 3 trim color to choose from. My unit came with all 3 included. I am not sure if this is normal as the box shows 3 different model number for the 3 different colors, but I got all 3 trim kits. I chose to use the Shale color since our interior is tan. The old Sony was a light gray color and the new AudioVox looks much nicer. Almost looks like it was factory installed. As for the picture...it is really nice. I was surprised how much clearer and brighter the picture was than the old Sony. I was also pleased to see that the side angle viewing was much improved since this unit cannot swivel side to side, just front to back. The sound over the wireless headphones is about the same as the Sony player, which makes sense since the headphones are controlling most of the sound quality. (We use the Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphones without the base. They will run on just an AAA battery and work great).Overall this looks like a good Overhead DVD/TV. Time will tell if it is durable, but the picture quality is a big improvement over the old Sony. The side angle viewing makes it easy for people sitting on the ends of the second row to still see the screen well. And the choice of trim color is a big improvement.

By Chris Larken
I must say that this was the most cost effective solution to my entertainment needs. With three young children it is not always easy to keep them all occupied on road trips. It can get very stressful with errands or even long drives trying to maintain focus on the tasks at hand. But with this entertainment system from audiovox driving is such a pleasure nowadays.I had this unit installed at my local audio & video shop. It was worth the extra money since there was no guesswork on my part. Time is money too. This saved me the time from having to cut into my busy schedule. They did a super job in the installation. I think it even looks better than my old one that was not so appealing. Can't remember the name of the old system, but since I knew of the audiovox brand and the well known customer support they provide in case of any trouble, I figured this was my best choice for service. I once had a sony dvd player and when it gave me a problem, there was such a hassle to get it resolved. Trying to talk to a customer service support with specific questions seemed to be a challenge. I had expected them to know their product better. My bad..But after asking a family member who purchased many different audiovox models over the years and hearing that they always provided superior support and knowledge of their products, I figured I made the right decision.I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend audiovox to others. For me, audiovox is the best choice, because whatever budget a person has... The value versus the quality is the closest ratio to one another with them. I got the best quality for my specific price range and I am happy. A bonus is the choice and levels you can buy. It is all up to you!Thank you audiovox, I intend to purchase more of your line in the future and will let my family members know too! Please keep up the great work and continue to make these in vehicle systems and portable units to boot. My family uses vehicles alot and wears them out fast with our traveling needs, and we need to replace our entertainment quite frequently.
