I recently purchased a new 2013 Dodge Durango that I wwill be using for towing my camper. Sometimes the camping sites are a few hours away so on-board entertainment is a must. I usually buy the units that have straps to wrap around the head rests but find the rattling anoying and the cables get in the way so I started looking into DVD headrest units and came across these. Seeing as they seemed to be new with no reviews on Amazon, I was a little reluctant. More so when I came acorss a review on another site written REALLY poorly saying that a friend is using it in his living room. Seriously? Anyway, they arrived a few days ago and took some time figuring out how to properly install it. Biggest challenge was power as it wasn't initiallyt designed to be plugged into a cig outlet. Seeing as the Durango had an outlet right in the arm rest, I simply took the male end from a cigarette outlet and soldered it together. Worked like a charm.So far so good.PROS: Monitor is crisp & clear with good angel visability. Product seems solid and had a side fan for cooling of the unit. Both units are capable of independently playing or can watch one-another. One feature I like is that the DVD is top loaded which means nothing to open that could break. Came with all the necessary cables with the exception of an optional cigaratte lighter plug for power. The poles for the head rest are adjustable.CONSThe speaker sound on the units is kind of low. Definately would recommend headsets. Although it comes with different attachments for various pole sizes on the head-rests, it didn't fit my Durango properly and was a little loose-- but usable. The FM transmitter had a lot of static.In all, for the price you can't beat it. Most of the units in the same price range looked quite cheap and many only had 1 DVD player while the other was simply a monitor. While I haven't yet put it to proper use, I'll update again in a few months of use.
